Nowadays most cars are fitted with dash cameras. Several years ago, there was a lot of fuss on the TV about what to do when you are the victim of road rage. Getting a dash cam fitted was your best option, according to most commentators on TV.

Recently, dash cams have been widely employed in criminal investigations, too. The visual records they take serve a useful purpose. I hear that the police call on drivers to hand in their data. The police gather information from cars that were driving by the scene of a crime.

Road rage does not feature much on TV now. I wonder whether perhaps… that was just a police tactic. Was road rage a ruse to get as many drivers as possible to fit dash cams, in order to help the police with their criminal investigations? Were reports of road rage just a media ploy to that end?

Naughty me! I have ended up writing something based on unfounded speculation. This is what they call a conspiracy theory, right? But in my case, I simply wanted to convey to you, my readers, what I have ended up thinking. Your indulgence, please!
