Shōtoku hinagata was a template book widely used for reference purposes in the design of kosode kimonos in the Edo period. It was the work of the Kyoto book dealer Hachimonjiya, and the ukiyoe artist, Nishikawa Sukenobu. The present volume is in two parts. The first comprises a photographic reproduction and transliteration of the original with notes and commentary. The second part consists of critical essays.
