Greetings from the Outskirts of Kyoto vol.15

INOUE Shōichi (Director-General)
December 28, 2021

The other day I received some training in the prevention of SNS trouble at Nichibunken. Careless remarks contained in contributions to Twitter and other platforms are always leading to incidents. It is not unknown for people to cause unexpected trouble to their colleagues at work. In my training, I received advice on how to nip those situations in the bud.

However, it is impossible for me to generate such trouble. I am clueless when it comes to anything technical. Sending a cyber message is beyond me. In fact, I do not own a computer or a smartphone. Inside, I thought there was no real need for me to get SNS training. I took part, though, believing it was something the Director-General should do.

I am now glad that I did listen in. The lecturer had this to say: It can happen that your rash statement at, say, a drinking session is broadcast by somebody else. Let us be careful, he said. Ah, indeed, I reflected, he has a point, I also felt, though, that there was no way of stopping such eventualities. Well, perhaps the only solution is the wearing of a mask outside the home.
